The Yellow Wallpaper - 2017

Project: Costume inspired by 'The Yellow Wallpaper' by Charlotte Perkins-Gilman - a story about a woman from the 19th century who is locked in a nursery on 'bed rest' in an attempt to cure her postpartum depression. She becomes obsessed with the wallpaper in the nursery and begins to see women trapped in the paper who can climb out of the walls.

Costume: This was a college textile project - my aim was to make a conceptual interpretation of the story, and included techniques such as lino printing, fabric dying, corsetry, collage and welding.
